Jane Nussbaum Douglas grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, graduated from Ashley Hall in 1972 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1976. She attended Boston University Law School for her first year, transferred to University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977, and received her Juris Doctorate in 1979. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1979, to the United States District Court in 1982, and has been certified in Collaborative Law since 2004.
Mrs. Douglas worked as a staff attorney at the Charleston County Public Defender’s from 1979 until 1982, after which she joined her husband in a general practice. In 1986 she became a Senior Staff Attorney at Neighborhood Legal Assistance, where she practiced in the Areas of family law and consumer law.
In 1999, Mrs. Douglas and Natalie Parker Bluestein started Bluestein and Douglas, L.L.C. Mrs. Douglas practices in Family Court, where issues for litigation include separation and divorce, custody, visitation, relocation, child support, and contempt of court cases.
